About the job

Python Developer – Backend Microservices (Stealth DevSecOps Product)

We’re a small team of builders working on a new stealth product that connects SRE, DevOps, Cloud, and Security teams in a unified way.
If you love building backend systems from scratch, designing clean architectures, and seeing your code power real products fast, this role is for you.

Tech stack

Our platform runs fully cloud-native on AWS, with a React frontend, a NestJS (TypeScript) backend, and a growing set of Python microservices that form our main product engine.
We use PostgreSQL as our core database and integrate with Authentik for authentication and SQS for messaging.

Contract details

  • Type: B2B / contractor
  • Rate: 8 000 CZK / MD (≈ €328 per MD, ECB ref. rate Nov 4 2025; actual amount follows invoice date)
  • Location: Remote (preferably within EU / US time zones)
  • Start: As soon as possible

What you’ll work on

  • Design and build Python-based backend microservices that form the core of our product engine and expanding it further.
  • Develop scalable code, internal rule-engines, and automation services integrated with AWS.
  • Collaborate closely with our frontend and TypeScript backend teams to define interfaces and ensure smooth data flows.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, observability, and security improvements across the stack.
  • Help shape our internal code standards, architecture, and developer experience.

What we expect

  • Strong Python skills and experience building microservices or backend APIs.
  • Experience with cloud native tools and writing CLI tools in python.
  • Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and database design.
  • Practical experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS).
  • Familiarity with Auth solutions (e.g., Authentik, Cognito, or similar).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
  • A DevSecOps mindset — thinking about reliability, performance, and security from day one.

Nice to have

  • Experience with TypeScript, NestJS, or other backend frameworks.
  • Background in security, DevSecOps, or AI/ML pipelines.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK).
  • Interest in architecture, scalable system design, and automation.

Engagement details

  • B2B contract with flexible hours and an outcome-driven culture.
  • Open to part-time collaboration depending on your availability.
  • Potential for a long-term partnership as the product grows.
